In Chrome v51, Google has introduced two emerging web standards, passive event listeners and Intersection Observer. Touch event listeners will not only improve the scrolling experience, but it will also help to improve user engagement analytics. Intersection Observer will help to provide viewability information in a more efficient way since a site can receive a callback when any element intersects a watched element.

Just last week we told you about reports of Intel cutting 11% of its workforce as well as cancelling major projects aimed at mobile products. Analyst Jan Dawson from Jackdaw Research believes Intel invested “well over $10 billion” in an attempt to make the company relevant in the mobile industry. This data comes from a 2014 report of $7.4 billion in losses, along with projected estimates into 2016.
Multiwindow has been in the works on Android for a while now. But with Android N, the feature appears to be a lot more polished than its initial appearances, likely in anticipation of making its primetime debut with the official public release of Android N.
However, multiwindow on phones is not always well-received. Screen sizes aside, developers of certain apps may not want to enable multi-window functionality for their app for fear of breaking important parts of their UI.

Last year the HTC smartwatch was rumored to be released in February, then it was said to be delayed and pushed back for a release sometime in April. Well, we are into May and there still hasn’t been talk of an HTC smartwatch. Evan Blass claims to know more about it now and says it will be released on “the week of June 6th.”
Yahoo originally purchased these 48.6 acres of land about 10 years ago for $106 million as they were wanting to create a new headquarters in Santa Clara, California. Nothing ever happened to it and to this day it remains undeveloped. It’s unknown exactly what LeEco plans to do with the land (as they’ve already opened up a headquarters in San Jose), but it seems they have big plans.
Project Spectrum is Oppo’s AOSP-based version of Android that keeps things as stock as possible while bringing in some of the better features of ColorOS. This was released for the Oppo Find 7 back in November of last year and now the company has released it for the Oppo R7s. This build is based on Android Marshmallow and can be downloaded from their own community forum.
