It seems YU is getting ready to announce a new smartphone later this month that will allegedly “redefine flagships.” As with most teasers, we aren’t told much, but we are told that since the Yutopia launch, the company has been working to “break all that’s conventional and boring.” We should be expect to hear something more about this device sometime this month.

Graphic designer and Icon Pack creator Eduardo Pratti recently spotted a new feature that looks to be rolling out to the YouTube for Android application. While watching a video, Eduardo spotted an unannounced Autoplay toggle right under a video he was watching. It’s likely this will be a server-side switch style of rollout instead of the traditional application update.
The market intelligence company Newzoo recently ran an online survey about VR that included 35,000 people around the world. They were asked if they plan on buying VR products in the next 6 months. Spain and Italy top the list with 16% and 14% respectively, followed by the United States with 12%. This survey included both dedicated VR headsets as well as MobileVR solutions like the Gear VR or Google Cardboard.

We know that BlackBerry is working on two new Android smartphones (which are said to be mid-range devices). In a recent Bloomberg interview, John Chen confirms the company wants to release these two devices by February of next year. During the interview, we also learn that their handset division is also close to turning a profit and we’ll know for sure by September.
From data collected during the 7-day period ending in May 2nd, we see that Android 6.0 Marshmallow now makes up 7.5% of Android’s overall market share. Lollipop is at 35.6%, KitKat is at 32.5%, all of Jelly Bean is at 20.1%. Then we have Ice Cream Sandwich and Gingerbread with a combined 4.2% and Froyo is still the little engine that could with 0.1%.
