Motorola has reiterated that the Pure Edition of the 2015 Moto X is not a Developer Edition device. This means that unlocking the bootloader will void the warranty. The only exception here is if there is a non-software related defect, like the volume buttons breaking or a speaker that goes bad. If it is a software related-issue, though, Motorola will not cover the damages.
