The OnePlus X is a good phone. It may not be up to par with the current market competition, but it bears decent specs with a beautiful display in a form factor that people with smaller hands would appreciate. After all, phone size being a subjective topic, not everyone likes a big phone. And for them, the OnePlus X is not much of a compromise.
That being said, the compromise just got a tad bit sweeter. While most users wait for OnePlus to finally roll out Android 6.0 Marshmallow for the X, flash-happy users can jump the queue and get in on some Marshmallow action. Official CyanogenMod 13 nightlies for onyx have gone live and can be downloaded from the CyanogenMod website. Do note, this is not an OnePlus-endorsed build, meaning that there is no official support from the company for this ROM. If you do choose to install it, you can expect a few bugs and kinks that are usually associated with builds of the nightly character. That being said, the OnePlus X, like other OnePlus devices, are very easy to unlock, root and go beyond, so you should not face any significant hurdles in the process.
So, what are you waiting for? If you have the OnePlus X and do not mind going away from stock OxygenOS to the land of CyanogenMod, head on over to the download page. Further, you can head on over to the discussion thread in the OnePlus X forums.
